Henry,

It may be wiser to first find out how valuable the stamps are.
If they are not priceless or anything very valuable and in used condition, one way is to simply soak the stamps (this may mean having to destroy the album). On the other hand, if you have mint (unused stamps) on them, it may be wiser to leave them in the album pages.

However, it may help if you can post some scans of some of the pages of the album so that other members may be able to offer some advice or their opinions, and then you decide what you want to do.

Hope that helps.

Cheers
Andrew

PSM will be having a stamp fair on the 14th and 15th of March 2009.
This may be a good time to bring your stamps along and get an opinion from
others (members of PSM and stamp dealers) as to the value of the stamps that you have.

Cheers
Andrew

Will it be any help desk in the fair or just the PSM counter will be there?

Since they are used stamps, it will be safe to have it soak in water and removed from the albums pages.

Careful about the gum, it will get your stamps tone and beware with the mould.
