In 2009, Myanmar issued a set of two stamps celebrating its independence. Below is an image of the higher value stamp 300k in a block of 4. This is the highest value ever issued for a Myanmar stamp, even the 2010 independence series has values of 100k and 200k only. The latest Scott catalogues this 300k stamps at US$95.00 each so this block/4 has a CV of US$380.00 !! And in the September 2010 PSM Auction, I had offered a similiar block/4 with a reserve price of RM 10.00 and there were NO TAKERS !!

The Scott catalogue must have based their valuation on the "official" but unrealistic exchange rate of US$1 = K6.00 whereas the real exchange rate is nearer to US$1 = K780

According to the latest scott catalogue, only a handful of Myanmar stamps command this type of CV. Almost all other Myanmar stamps have "normal" CV, so it can't be the exchange rate. However, I do agree that it is way overboard, notwithstanding that modern Myanmar stamps are hard to get from any source.
